17, 18, 19 & 20 May 2018 - Holiday Travel Park
The hosts for the weekend are Randy and Linda Burdette, Dale and Judy Ross, and Larry and Nancy Omps.
We were concerned about the
management reneging on our agreement, so many of us went ahead and made firm
reservations for the 2018 weekend. By the time we left 9 of our 10 premium
sites had already been reserved. The cost for the premium sites is $62.00 plus tax
per night.
The regular pull-through sites are full hook-ups and are sites 30-34 on the campground map. They are walking distance to the premium sites, where we hope weather will allow us to set up our tables for the group. If we need more than 5 regular sites, the campground should be able to accommodate us on the remaining sites in that row. The cost for the regular sites is $49 plus tax per night but we get a 10% Good Sam discount.
The Virginia Beach Travl Park is a very popular campground and is usually busy in the warmer months, so it would be wise to go ahead and get your reservations sooner rather than later.
To make reservations call Holiday
Travel Park phone no. 757-425-0249 and the reservations are under Old Dominion
Cardinals. The normal weekend dates are Friday, May 18, to Sunday, May 20, but
some of us are planning to go in on Thursday and stay until Monday. Virginia
Beach is a great place to do a mini-vacation and we always go out for a nice
dinner on Sunday night as well as sight-seeing and relaxing on Thursday and
Monday. Just be sure when you make your reservations that the campground
knows which dates you are reserving.

26 - 29 Apr 2018 - Harpers Ferry KOA
Well Old
Dominion Cardinals, it is time to kick off the 2018 camping season!!!
Mark your calendars for April 26th to 29th.
Yes, that is the fourth weekend of the month, and yes we are planning a four
day, three night trip to kick off the season.
Carol and Larry Welford, along with Sandy Freed will be your
trip captains for this weekend. We have chosen to travel to a park that
the Club has not visited in many years. We will be camping at Harpers
Ferry KOA in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. We have reserved 15 sites for
the group. All sites are full hookups and have 50 Amp service. All
sites are also pull thrus. We have been able to obtain a three night
special rate for the group.
Arrival will be on Thursday April 26th.
Check in time is after 1:00 PM. The sites we have reserved are shown in
light blue on the attached campground map.
As the time gets closer, we will send out another email with
the details on activities and meals.
The campground fee for the three night weekend is $144.16. This fee includes all taxes. The campground does have a charge for pets of $2 per pet per night. The Campground has agreed to let us use Cutler Hall for the weekend as long as they are not using it so we will have a place to gather in case of inclement weather.
Reservations for the weekend need to be made before March 15, 2018. Each member needs to call the campground directly at (304) 535-6895. Let them know that you are part of the group reserved under Sandy Freed’s name. Then please let either Larry, Carol or Sandy know that you have made a reservation so that we can plan food.
Harpers Ferry is an area rich in history with incredible scenery that offers a wealth of activities including hiking, cycling, rafting and climbing opportunities. There are restaurants, shops, art galleries, indoor and outdoor exhibits as well as the Civil War battlefield parks. This should be fun for everyone.

Please plan to join us and start the 2018 season off with a bang
