Meeting Minutes – December 7, 2014
The meeting was called to order by President Sandy Freed at the Old Dominion Cardinal annual Christmas party held at the Welford home. Welcome to all in attendance. A special welcome to Bob and Connie McDonald, who are now new members of the ODC.  Thank you to the Welford’s for opening up their home to us.
A big thank you went to Larry Welford for delivering our toys to Toys for Tots.
The Secretary’s report and the Treasurer’s report were emailed by Rebecca, before the party.  Reports were approved as emailed.
Sunshine Lady Report –Norah will have Shoulder surgery. Bill will be looking into Clinical trials at John Hopkins.
Old Business:
New officers: Kay Karstaedt – President
Carol Welford – V. President (as appointed)
Norah Zerhusen – Wagonmaster
Installation was held at the end of the meeting.  Installation was performed by Larry Welford.
New Business

State Committee meeting was held on December 6, 2014 at Misty Mountain Campground.
Chapter reports and Rosters are due before December 29th, in order to get the information to national.
Samborees for 2015 will be:
Spring Samboree at Beth Page – May 15-17
Fall Samboree at Rockahock – Sept 25-27.

Some changes happening at Beth Page might cause us to look for another site for the spring samboree.  State has not signed a contract as of yet, but at this time, it is too late to look for another place for May, 2015.  Some items changing:
Beth Page wants to charge clubs $100 if they sell food during the flea market.  There will be an extra charge for extra vehicles stored on other sites (this will mostly affect vendors).  Beth Page wants to charge RV dealers to have rigs on site to show.
State is in talks with Trav-L-Park in Virginia Beach for future years.  Also talking to the State event park.
For the spring samboree, Sandy signed the club up for Saturday evening refreshment service.
We decided to hold the Motorcycle ride at the Fall Samboree.  We will discuss selling food or raffle at the flea market at the April campout.

The new state director would like to attend chapters campouts.  We will need to invite them.  The Mid Atlantic Samboree is in June at Harrington, Delaware.  Virginia Good Sam is not supporting the samboree, but encourages the members to attend.
The winter luncheon will be held in February.  Larry Welford will organize.

A motion was made to donate $150 to both the EOD Warrior foundation and the Thurman Brisben Center. The motion was approved.
2015 camping schedule: A list was circulated to sign up for hosting duties at the monthly campouts.  Norah will send out the final list.
After the installation of officers, the meeting was adjourned.
Merry Christmas to all and safe travels until we meet again.
Respectfully,

Rebecca Messerle

Meeting Minutes – October 18, 2014

The meeting was called to order by President Sandy Freed after Saturday breakfast. We had a large group for October’s campout.  Rigs present were: Settles, Freed, Welford, White, Kuhne, Ross, Messerle, Tolson, Karstaedt, Lawrence, and Halstead.  The campout was held at Grey’s Point in Topping, VA.

Thanks to Hosts: Halstead, Tolson, Kuhne, and Lawrence.

Old Business

The Secretary’s report was emailed out before the campout.  Approved as sent.  Treasurer’s report had not changed since August.

Sunshine Lady Report: Sharon Bowen has motorhome advertised for sale in the Freelance Star.  A list  was passed around of items from the motorhome she would like to sell.  There are some items, she doesn’t know what they are.  If anyone is interested, they should contact Sharon.

The Parrishs sent a note of how much they enjoyed the August Campout, and are looking forward to spending more time with us.

The Christmas party will be held on Dec. 7th at the Welford residence.  Time has been set at 2:00 p.m.  Club will provide the meat and a non-alcoholic punch and paper goods.  Sandy will assign other food to club members.

We will again participate in Toys for Tots. Bring an unwrapped gift for the kids.  Remember, the older kids are also in need of items.

New Business

Election of Officers.

The two offices open for 2015 are President and Wagon Master.  The nominating committee consisted of Donna Tolson, Jim Settles, and Marv Coyner.  They submitted for election: Kay Karstaedt for President and Norah Zerhusen for Wagon Master.  The nominations were approved and Kay and Norah were elected.  Carol Welford agreed to fill Kay’s remaining term as Vice President (one year).

The State committee meeting is December 6th at Misty Mountain.  There is a new State director – Dave Clark.

Review of the Fall Samboree: good venue, good entertainment.  Seminars were available on Friday, which is too early for those arriving Friday afternoon.  Friday dinner provided by campground was good. Activities offered were not activities our group was interested in.  Some ideas for the future would be: wine tasting, fire circle with popcorn, snack contest.

The meeting was adjourned.

Respectfully,
Rebecca Messerle
