MINITUES OF THE MEETING OF THE OLD DOMINION CARDINALS
GETTYSBURG, PA - JUNE 23, 2012
The meeting was called to order by President Larry
Halstead. Those in attendance
were, Welford, Bowen, Zerhusen, Halstead, Simmons, Tolson, Matheny, Burdette,
Solden/Wilson and Freed. Mem Halstead
volunteered to take minutes due to the absence of our Secretary. President
Halstead welcomed everyone especially our guests, Natalie and Renee, the Bowens
granddaughters, and Madie, the Halsteads granddaughter.
A BIG thank you was given to Phyllis and Craig, Sandy and
Bill, and Carol and Larry for the wonderful job they were doing with the food
for the weekend. This is the first time
we have done an extended campout of more than 2 nights. It was well received
and we will recommend doing it again. Also just for information it was a
motorcycle weekend and the ones who have bikes did several rides and those who
did not enjoyed the Battlefield and Museums.
We all met up on Sunday for a great lunch at a local restaurant after
the Bikers did a tour of the Battlefield with a tour guide. There were also several side trips to
Hershey PA, (the sweetest place on earth), the Snyder pretzel factory and the
Harley Davidson factory in York.
Larry Welford made a motion with a second from Wayne Simmons
to approve the minutes and the treasurer’s report for the May meeting.
Mem reported that Velda Taylor is now very dependent on
others for her care. Ken has help 3 days
a week so that he can go and do the things he needs to do. Please continue to pray for them.
