The meeting was called to order by President Larry Halstead on Saturday Morning after breakfast.  The August campout was held at Country Way campground in Luray, VA   In attendance were  Halsteads,  Messerles, Coyners, Zerhusens, Murguia, and the Welfords.

Thanks to our hosts for the weekend: Messerles and Murguias

Old Business:

The Secretary’s report and the Treasurer’s report were emailed by Rebecca. The Treasurer’s report was revised and resent to separate out the food costs from supplies.  Reports were approved as revised.

Sunshine Lady Report – Linda Burdette had surgery, had some pain, but no update yet.

Janice Parson has sold her coach and is looking forward to the next stage of her life.  Some of our members attended Walt Abbots visitation and spoke to Edna.  She is still living in Lynchburg and probably going to sell her house in Aquia Harbor.

Samboree year bars are here – Larry H passed them out to people this weekend, and will pass out the remaining patches as he sees the attendees.

Election of State Director – ODC casted 16 out of 21 votes for Bud Wickham.  He was running unopposed, but will be happy to know he has our support. (There were 5 no responses from out members).

Christmas Party will be held on December 8, 2012 at the Strength and Honor Motorcycle Club in Stafford.  We will be accepting Toys for Tots.  If you would like to donate toys before the Christmas party, Larry Welford will gladly accept them at his office or home.

More information on the Christmas party will follow.

New Business:

September Campout will be at Shenandoah Crossings in Gordonsville, VA.  A number of emails have been sent with the information. The dates are Sept. 28 & 29.  The rate is $50.00 per night.  We will have election of new officers at this meeting.

October is the Fall Samboree at Harrisonburg. The dates are Oct 19-21st.  If we don’t want to attend the Samboree, is there any interest in another campout at a different location.

Technical Tip of the Month:  Propane Gas Detector.  Do you know where yours is located.  They can be tested by pushing the button on them.  They also only last for 5 years.  They can be replaced fairly easily.  This is also true of Carbon Monoxide detectors.

Also for those that have smart phones, there are many apps available for RVers.  Examples include: Good Sam’s Road Service, Leveling your rig, Gas buddy to find cheapest gas in the area, and a satellite finder.

Meeting was adjourned.

Respectfully,
Rebecca Messerle
