The hosts for this campout are: Brad & Rebecca Messerle, Kay Karstedt and Sandy Freed. The Campground website is http://www.dcr.virginia.gov/state-parks/belleisle.shtml#general_information. The sites are very large. Reservations are due ASAP to get a site.
Reservations needed to be made through Reserve America.
Please make them early as it is Father's day weekend. (I googled Belle
Isle state park and was able to get to the website).
Kay and the Messerle's
had the buddy sites of 4 and 5 (these are site specific). There are a
few other sites that are considered site specific, but for the most part, all
the sites are close.

Meeting Minutes – May 21, 2016
The meeting was called to order by Vice President, Steve
Winder. May was the Good Sam Rally at Meadow Event Park. ODC had 6 rigs present: Winder, Freed, Bowen,
Burdette, Zerhusen, and Messerle. Norah
and Leo’s daughter, Cristy joined in the fun.
The Secretary’s and Treasurer’s reports was emailed to
everyone before the campout. Reports
were approved as sent.
Old Business:
Shirts for Club-
Still working on getting an emblem that can be used on the shirts.
Linda and Randy found an emblem at the
Rally they think will work. Linda will
contact Lands End to see if it will work.
Pat has a friend that can do embroidery work on shirts, if Lands End
doesn’t work out.
Steve attended the President’s meeting at the Rally. Everyone in attendance wants to have the
Rally at Meadow Event park next spring.
VA Good Sam will be making the deposit for next year and start working
on the contract the day after the Rally ends.
The building is a big draw for us.
There were 21 vendors in attendance this year, up from 6 the previous
year. There was a lot of discussion on 1
vs 2 Rallys a year. Good Sam’s is in
the process of changing the name from Samboree to Rally. There will be a State Director election this
year as David is stepping down. Still in
need of staff. The President’s meeting
will be held in December at Misty Mountain.
June Campout will be at Belle Isle State Park. The dates are June 17-19. This is Father’s Day weekend. Reservations need to be made online. There is no deadline as long as the park as
sites available. Please let Rebecca, Kay
or Sandy know when you make your reservation.
We cannot get the information from the park. Further plans for the weekend will be sent at
a later time.
July Campout is July 22-24 at Misty Mountain. August campout is August 26-28 at American
Hertiage in Williamsburg. October
campout is October 28-30 at Grey’s Point. Information has been sent out by the
hosts.
